Tori Spelling says husband Dean McDermott isn’t the only one recovering from his motorcycle accident.

Since McDermott, 43, has been home from the hospital, children Liam, 3, and Stella, 2, are having to adjust to seeing their injured father, who is healing from a punctured lung.

“It’s hard,” Spelling, 37, told PEOPLE at Dairy Queen’s Turn Blizzards Into Smiles event Friday in Los Angeles. “It’s hard because Liam’s a daddy’s boy, so he wants Dean to pick him up and we have to explain that daddy’s sick, that he’s hurt, so he can’t get up.”

Spelling also says there’s no way to predict how long before her husband is back to normal until he begins rehab. “[Dean] gets up for a short walk every day, but it’s hard for him.”

“The Insider” has the latest on Tori Spelling’s husband, Dean McDermott, after news of his hospitilization following a dirt bike accident last week.

“The Insider” has learned that McDermott has been released from the hospital.

On Monday, McDermott tweeted, “I’m healing slowly, I’ll be doing rehab for a while I messed a few things up when I crashed.”

McDermott, 43, had been hospitalized with a punctured, collapsed lung last week. Earlier this year, McDermott was also in a motorcycle accident in which he fractured his shoulder.

Today, Tori tweeted, “We R SO happy tht @deanracer is finally home from hospital! The kids and I picked him up this afternoon. We R all in bed now while he rests.”

McDermott and Spelling have a reality show on Oxygen called “Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood,” and Spelling’s book uncharted terriTORI has just been released.

Perhaps Dean McDermott should change his Deanracer Twitter name…to just Dean.

The reality-TV dad is out of ICU after a motorcycle accident landed him in the hospital with serious injuries earlier this week. But he’s not in the clear just yet.

Nevertheless, wife Tori Spelling headed to Twitter Friday to announce the good news of her dirt-bike-loving hubby’s release from intensive care.

“Kids and I are about to go see @deanracer,” Spelling tweeted. “He’s been moved from ICU to a regular room! Yay! I’ll tell him everyone sends their love.”

While McDermott still remains in the hospital, his appetite seems to be back to normal, in spite of his injuries.

“I said to @deanracer “Babe do u want anything?” He said “Oreo McFlurry!” So his spirits are up despite all the pain,” Spelling wrote.

McDermott has also been keeping fans abreast of his recovery progress.

“It was a freak accident,” McDermott tweeted about the incident. “We still can’t figure out what happened. Nonetheless, I have a collapsed lung and bad bruising on my right side. Oh, and 3 stitches in my right butt cheek where a stone got imbedded. Let’s just say, I won’t be dirt biking anymore.”

Tori Spelling’s daredevil hubby, Dean McDermott, is currently hospitalized in a Los Angeles-area intensive care unit after sustaining a punctured, collapsed lung in a dirt bike accident Tuesday.

Which may be painful now. But at least it’ll make for a good, um, sTori.

“He’s expected to make a full recovery,” the couple’s rep told E! News, adding that Dean will remain laid up in the ICU “for a few more days.”

The 43-year-old wiped out on a dirt bike trail earlier this week while riding recreationally with a couple of friends.

“Thanks for the well wishes,” Dean—who so loves his extreme sports that his Twitter account is Deanracer—tweeted to fans this morning. “A collapsed lung is no fun, and is a lengthy heal. Feeling pretty bad today. Day 2 is always the worst.”

Tori, meanwhile, is no doubt concerned for her hubby’s welfare—though she has a funny way of showing it.

Namely by not really showing it at all (or at least not until an exclusive placement comes a-knocking).

While Dean’s accident and hospitalization twofer took place two days ago, Spelling has been steadily tweeting since then, though has curiously failed to make even one mention of her better half’s health.

Not so her son’s ailments, as Tori shared with the world that 3-year-old Liam is currently suffering from a mean case of heat rash. Get well soon, both McDermott men.

While attending Juno Baby’s “All For One” Bus Tour, supermom Tori Spelling dished to reporters that despite her busy schedule, she and husband Dean McDermott would like to add more children to their Home Sweet Hollywood clan. Tori told reporters:

“We would like a third. Probably get these two a litle more self-sufficient and then try!”

Tori’s daugher, Stella, just celebrated her second birthday and is quite the junior fashionista, according to her mom…

“She’s very into fashion. She now insists on her nails being painted, at age 2. She’s into makeup, purses, everything.”

When asked if Tori had any vacations planned for the summer, she told reporters:

“Work! We just started a new show called Tori and Dean Weddings so we will be filming that all summer. Maybe a little time by the beach, hopefully!”
