Tori Spelling may be a bestselling author, actress and reality star, but now she’s setting her sights on becoming a talk show host.
The married mom wet her appetite for chatting last month as a co-host on the Today Show.
What advice did Kathie Lee Gifford give her?
“Oh my gosh, she just said ‘be yourself, go for it,’” Tori, 36, tells me during a Q-Tips Vanity Packs event. “That was her thing. Don’t hold back. I remember the first day, I was a little nervous, and I thought ‘OK, it’s Kathie Lee, she’s like an icon, she’s been doing this forever, I have to be so respectful.’ And then she was busting my balls, and I thought ‘oh, I can’t fire back.’ Then, we went to lunch that day and we completely bonded. We had the total two-hour girlfriend lunch, and the next day I came back firing at her. I just felt like I could do that. We were on the same level. And we had bonded – we were girlfriends. It’s so nice to have that compatibility, and we just totally clicked.”
The Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood star hopes to return.
“I would like to, if they would have me back,” she says. “I definitely like the format of the talk show, so I’d definitely love to do something like that in the future.”

Jennie Garth’s Kelly Taylor has been a fixture on the CW’s 90210; Shannen Doherty’s Brenda Walsh has done a few drive-bys. Even Jason Priestley is stopping by to step behind the camera.
So who’s next? Sources tell me producers are actively working once more on getting Tori Spelling on screen as Donna Martin before season’s end for a multiple-episode arc.
So will it happen? And what’s this about a Luke Perry lookalike (gasp!) cozying up to Naomi?
Reps for both Tori and the network tell me there’s “nothing to confirm” yet, but insiders close to the talks say that if producers get their way, Donna will drop by for a few episodes this spring and may appear in an episode Jason may be directing.
No final agreements have been made, but talks continue, with Tori’s storyline and paypoint being sorted out.

Tori is going to be reprising her role on “Smallville” in early 2009! Check out the article below…
Color me gobsmacked: Tori Spelling is appearing on a CW show, and it’s not 90210. At least not yet anyway. (More on that in a sec.)
Sources confirm to me exclusively that Spelling has finalized a deal to return to Smallville as The Daily Planet’s incredibly liquefying gossip columnist Linda Lake. The camptastic character, first introduced in a Jan. ’07 episode, is unique among Smallville’s long line of villains in one very significant way: She knows Clark’s secret.
Now for the other piece of this story: My Peach Pit mole confirms that after numerous false starts, Spelling is once again engaged in “preliminary talks” to reprise her role as everyone’s favorite ex-virgin, Donna Martin, on 90210: New Flavor.
As you’ll recall, Aaron’s little girl was all set to head back to her former zip code earlier in the season, but she backed out in an alleged dispute over moolah. Or was it because she just had a baby? Depends who you ask!
If the 90210 deal materializes, and that’s still a big if, I’m told Spelling would likely show up in the spring. Her one-episode Smallville return, meanwhile, is set in stone for early ’09.
What say you, Smallville fans? Excited to see Clark’s liquid nightmare back? Are you, like me, hoping it’s a precursor to a 90210 return later in the season? The comments section awaits your feedback!

Perez Hilton is reporting the following about Tori’s role in the upcoming 90210 spin-off.
We told y’all that Tori Spelling was definitely heading back to 90210 (2.0) as Donna Martin.
Now, we can now reveal what her character will be up to in the spinoff!
According to a CW network source, Donna will be the owner of one of the coolest stores in Beverly Hills, a shopping hot spot that is frequented by the new cast of characters.
Spelling will be appearing several times throughout the season, but she will not be a series regular.
Jennie Garth will also make sporadic appearances too. Her character, Kelly, now works as a guidance counselor at the high school.
Sounds exciting! Can’t wait to see Tori and Jennie back on 90210!

The plot thickens! Or at least the cast list for CW’s new 90210 spinoff thickens!
Sources close to Big Green tell me that Tori Spelling will join former castmate Jennie Garth in the new series. After asking to guest star on the series, sources tell me that she has been written into the pilot. In that first ep, Tori cameos with a few lines in a brief shopping scene with the girls.
Ian Ziering
I’m told that Ian Ziering, aka Steve Saunders, is also very interested in signing on. In fact, I’m hearing that both Tori, Ian and their “people” have been reaching out to producers and the network on a almost daily basis to see where the situation with the show stands!
Awww…the gang’s (almost) all here!
Jennie Garth
As for Jennie’s part in all this, I’m hearing she was originally supposed to be a series regular, but she would only sign on as a recurring character to start. She wants to see how the show does before committing to a specific number of episodes.
Worth noting: None of the original castmembers wanted to be the first to sign on, but once Jennie went for it, they followed suit. Always a leader, that Kelly!
Luke Perry
From what I’m hearing, many of the original castmembers are expected to make cameos at one point or another. Dare we hope for some Jason Priestley or Luke Perry action while we’re here?
Are you excited about Tori and Ian signing up for some guest work of their own? Y/N?
