Tori Spelling is convinced her long-time estrangement from her mother was prolonged by the publicity surrounding the feud, insisting the rift could have been healed sooner if they hadn’t made their dispute public.

The reality TV star and her mom, Candy, spent three years apart following a disagreement around the death of TV mogul Aaron Spelling — the family patriarch — in 2006.

The bitter feud was played out in the press as both women spoke out about their situation.

The Spellings finally put the spat behind them last year, rebuilding their broken relationship for the sake of Tori’s children.

And the former “Beverly Hills, 90210″ star is adamant they could have worked out their problems earlier if they had kept their disagreement private.

She tells “Access Hollywood,” “It was the whole realization of ‘What happened between us?’ and, ‘Was there really anything major?’ Or, ‘Did the press really heighten it to a level where we thought we couldn’t go back?’

“That was a huge turning point for me when I realized I think that’s what happened. … It really was about kind of saying, ‘The past is the past. This is about my kids, her grandkids. It’s all about Liam and Stella.’ Because of that we have been able to move forward as a family and we’re all together and it’s been great.”

It’s almost been a year since Farrah Fawcett died on the morning of June 25, 2009, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Tori Spelling, who was a former neighbor of the “Charlie’s Angels” star, told Access Hollywood that the blonde bombshell visited her from beyond during a psychic reading.

“I was talking to a medium,” Spelling told Access Hollywood in an interview to promote her third memoir, “uncharted terriTORI,” which hit bookstores on Tuesday. “I was hoping my dad (‘Charlie’s’ Angels’ producer Aaron Spelling) would come through.”

Instead of hearing from her father, while sitting down with medium and talk-show host John Edward, it was the former “Angel” Spelling heard from.

“Farrah Fawcett came through in my reading loud and clear,” Spelling continued. “It was really awkward for him as well. He’s like, ‘I have never had this happen.’ ”

Spelling explained to Access that she knew Fawcett for years — first through her dad and the actress’ work on “Charlie’s Angels,” then because they were neighbors and also because the blonde bombshell appeared on Spelling’s former VH1 show, “So NoTorious,” but she wasn’t entirely prepared for her psychic visit from the star.

Tori Spelling’s wafer-thin frame has been the topic of much debate — and in her new book, TerriTORI, she reveals why she shed so much weight.

According to USA Today, Spelling, 37, blames swine flu, stomach pain, migraines and nerve problems for her weight loss. She says she had to take three rounds of antibiotics that caused severe stomach pain. “I’ve never had a great stomach, but (being ill) just completely tore up my stomach and broke down my immune system, and I’ve basically just been a mess ever since, stomach-wise,” she says. “It’s about rebuilding my immune system.”

Last year, tabloid rumors got so wild that it prompted the 90210 alum to declare last fall on Twitter that she weighs 107 lbs.

“I’m a role model for a lot of women out there, so I hate that they say these things unwarranted, without any research and facts,” she says. “I think it’s doing a disservice to women out there that look up to any celebrity.”

She says she worries “every single day” how the coverage will affect her daughter Stella, now 2, down the road.

“I’m so grateful that she can’t read yet,” she says. “I’m hoping they’ll let up on that by the time she gets old enough to understand, but I’m going to have to explain to her that this is what happens.”

Spelling — who recently renewed her vows with husband Dean McDermott, as Us Weekly exclusively reported – also weighs in on their marriage, admitting that things got rocky last year.

“We had problems that we never thought we would have,” she vaguely says. “We thought we had the perfect relationship. We realized we love each other, but the communication had completely broken down and a lot of our issues, honestly, came from parenting.”

And how are things with her once-estranged mother, Candy?

“We do talk on the phone. We do e-mail. We see each other for dinners. We do the normal stuff I think families do. There’s no strain,” she says. “We’re still building our relationship, of course, but she’s great with the kids (Stella and Liam, 3). She’s completely involved, which is all I ever wanted. We’re just moving forward.”

Renewing his vows to Tori Spelling May 8 in Beverly Hills “was amazing,” her husband of four years, Dean McDermott, told UsMagazine.com Wednesday at the Cable Show 2010 in Universal City, Calif.

“It was beautifully put together and designed by T and her friend James,” added McDermott, 43, who shows off photos from the ceremony in the new Us Weekly (on newsstands now). “We exchanged the exact same vows we exchanged in Fiji [where wed wed in 2006]. To have Tori’s mom there and her brother Randy was wonderful. We’re building great relationships, and it’s really, really nice.”

Their children, Liam, 3, and Stella, 23 months, also were included the ceremony. Said McDermott, “It was so great to hear our kids voices while we were exchanging our vows. It was pretty special.”

Are more kids on the way?

“Not just yet,” McDermott told Us. “I gotta give mama a rest. She has been pregnant for two years. We just want to enjoy the time we have with the ones we have now. A third one adds a whole different crazy to the mix. We definitely want a third.”

On their hit Oxyegn show this season, he said his two children “steal the show. Liam is chatty; Stella is gorgeous with this great sense of humor. We get into some adventure — I challenge T a little bit.”

How so?

Tori Spelling began the day by Tweeting, “Beautiful day to remarry ;)” – and on Saturday evening, she ended it by doing just that.

During a ceremony at a private home overlooking Beverly Hills, Dean McDermott, 43, gave Spelling, 36, a custom designed Darkened Diamond Eternity Band by Neil Lane as the couple renewed their wedding vows.

The bride wore a white, strapless gown with an open back and kissed her husband passionately after the short ceremony, according to a source.

In contrast to their Fiji-set wedding four years ago, attended by only the barefoot bride and groom and a non-denominational officiator, the couple declared their love in the company of close friends and family – including son Liam, 3, and daughter Stella, 23 months.

Spelling and McDermott met on the set of the 2006 TV movie Mind Over Murder.

After rumors of trouble in their marriage, Spelling told Ellen DeGeneres in April, “There is no divorce in our future, at all.”

She also said on the Today show, “We’re committed to each other, we’re committed to this family.”

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are taking yet another step to halt rumors that there is trouble in their marriage: They plan to renew their vows over the weekend.

The couple have invited close friends and family to an intimate gathering in the Los Angeles-area on Saturday. The date marks four years since they tied the knot on a private island in Fiji in a ceremony attended only by the barefoot bride and groom.

The pair, who have been seen on their show Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood having blow-out fights, have downplayed any talk of a split. Appearing on the The Ellen DeGeneres Show last month Spelling said, “There is no divorce in our future, at all.”

McDermott and Spelling met in the summer of 2005 while in Canada filming the TV movie Mind Over Murder. They are parents to Liam, 3, and Stella, who turns 2 this summer.

Spelling will return to the bookshelves in June with her third book, tentatively titled uncharted terriTORI.

ABC is creating a daytime talk show for Spelling and a co-host to be determined. The daughter of late legendary television producer Aaron Spelling, Tori Spelling first came to prominence in her own right playing Donna Martin on the teen soap “Beverly Hills 90210.” Always a tabloid favorite, Spelling has since turned her own life with husband Dean McDermott into a reality show for Oxygen. “Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood,” one of the cable network’s highest-rated shows, recently started its fifth season earlier this month.

The program, which is in the very early stages of development, would feature Spelling and a male co-host who would basically serve as Spelling’s best friend forever. The network is looking for a “Will & Grace” vibe between Spelling and her as-yet-undiscovered BFF.Who knows, maybe finding a co-host can be its own reality show for Spelling.

Of course, it is a long road from development to an actual show. But news that ABC may be looking to create another daytime talker will certainly raise eyebrows. The network currently has four shows in daytime — soap operas “General Hospital,” “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” and yenta fest “The View.”

If ABC is going to launch another hour-long show, it will have to get that time from its affiliates. One possibility could be late afternoon, where many ABC stations will likely have a hole to fill next fall when Oprah Winfrey departs to cable. However, getting the ABC affiliates to give an hour back to the network may prove to be a challenge. Even the ABC-owned stations may resist such a request because many are planning to replace Winfrey with another hour of local news.

Another scenario is that one of its current daytime shows is, uh, going away. We’re pretty sure “The View” is staying put, so that leaves one of the soaps as potentially heading to the exit. But don’t panic yet, soap fans, there is no guarantee that the Spelling show will get off the ground. ABC could also try to sell it to a cable network or syndicate it to local television stations.
