Feb 17 Tori Spelling Ventures Into Children’s Books 0
Filed in: Career , News

American actress Tori Spelling has a reality TV show, a children’s clothing line, and two autobiographical books to her name, and now she is branching out into a new area: children’s literature.

Simon & Schuster said its Aladdin imprint is to publish Spelling’s first children’s book called “Presenting … Tallulah” in September this year.

Spelling, whose acting credits include TV show “Beverly Hills 90210,” has already written an autobiography “sTORI Telling” and follow-up book “Mommywood” about being a Hollywood mother of young children. Her third adult book, tentatively titled “Uncharted terriTORI,” is due to go on sale in June.

Aladdin said “Presenting … Tallulah,” illustrated by Vanessa Brantley Newton, tells the story of a young girl who just wants to be herself.

“I love reading to my kids. It’s our special time together. That and my passion for story telling inspired me to write a children’s book of my own to read to them and children everywhere,” said Spelling, 36, in a statement.

Spelling, the daughter of the late TV producer Aaron Spelling, and her second husband Dean McDermott, who have two children, are filming the fourth season of their reality TV series, “Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood.”

Oxygen has announced Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood’s third season, the fifth overall edition of its Tori & Dean reality series starring Tori Spelling and her husband Dean McDermott, will premiere Monday, April 5 at 10PM ET/PT.

While Tori & Dean’s first two installments — dubbed Tori & Dean: Inn Love — followed the couple as they ran Chateau La Rue, a leased bed-and-breakfast in Fallbrook, CA, the last two editions of Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood has followed the couple as they returned to Tinseltown to make a new home with their two young children.

The new season will continue to follow the family in their everyday life and include footage from the first ever Spelling-McDermott cross-country family road trip.

Oxygen renewed Tori & Dean for a fifth season last October after Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood’s second-season was the network’s most-watched season ever among total viewers and in the Adults 18-49 and Women 18-49 demographics.

Jan 8 Tori Spelling to Pen Third Book 0
Filed in: Career , News

Tori Spelling is once again returning to the bookshelves to tell her side of the story. Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, will publish her third book, tentatively titled unchartered terriTORI and scheduled to hit stores in June.

“I love sharing my stories and experiences with people and connecting to them on both a humorous and emotional level,” Spelling, 36, tells PEOPLE exclusively. “The response to my first two books has been so amazing that I wanted to write a third one for my fans.”

Those fans can expect the actress to dish on the very latest in her public life, including her reaction to the tabloid scrutiny of her weight, her infamous relationship with mom Candy, with whom she just reconciled, life with husband Dean McDermott and their two children, and whether they might be adding to their brood in the near future.

“With two kids it’s hard to find down time to write so I often write during their nap time,” Spelling says. “Whenever something happens that makes me laugh or if I remember something in the middle of the night that I want to share, I jot the experience down.”

Spelling wrote the book in between filming for the fifth season of her reality show, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, which premieres on Oxygen in the spring, and working on her jewelry and kids’ clothing line.

“I like to write in our family room since so many of my stories revolve around my family or from my bed cause it’s so damn cozy! The biggest challenge was finding the time,” she says. “The biggest joy was appreciating how lucky I am to have that challenge!”

Dec 31 Tori Spelling’s Feud With Mom Finally Over 0
Filed in: News , Personal

Reality star Tori Spelling got an early Christmas present this year: Her bitter feud with mom Candy finally ended.

“Everyone asked, ‘What do you want for Christmas?’ and I said, ‘Nothing, I got it. My family is together,’” Tori, 36, tells Life & Style. “Just watching my mother and my brother, Randy, and my whole family together, it’s like, ‘Wow!’”

Life & Style Weekly: What’s it like to see your mother interacting with your kids?
Tori Spelling: It’s great, especially around the holidays. Nothing beats family. It’s irreplaceable.

L&S: Speaking of family, are you and hubby Dean McDermott planning to give 2-year-old Liam and 19-month-old Stella a little brother or sister?
TS: We definitely want a big family, but there’s still a lot of poop going around our house right now. We’ll wait until there’s a little less maintenance!

L&S: After having two kids, how do you stay in such great shape?
TS: In all honesty, I don’t follow a diet. And I don’t exercise. I’m a super-busy mom. I’m constantly on the go. I’m lifting a 28-pound child, a 21-pound child. We’re always running and doing stuff. I try to set a healthy standard for the kids too — I make sure to incorporate protein and vegetables into their meals.

L&S: Would you say 2009 was a good year?
TS: It’s been amazing. It’s been emotional, and it’s been trying, and 2010 is going to be even better. A lot of our prayers have been answered. So 2010 is going to be a true blessing for our family.
