Lifetime promised that the upcoming docuseries True Tori was going to get up close and personal with Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott as they worked on repairing their marriage following his recent time in rehabâand it looks like we can believe the hype.
“That’s my worst nightmare, I cheated on my wife,” Dean says frankly during what appears to be an emotional couples counseling session. “I was out of control…Sex was an escape, just like drugs and alcohol.”
To which Tori tearfully adds, “I could never give him enough sex. He’s never going to be happy with just me.”
And that’s not allâwatch the whole clip to hear the other heartbreaking things the spouses have to say to each other.
Stories about Dean’s then-alleged cheating started plaguing the couple last year, but Tori continued to power through, posting family photos on her blog and sending a joint “Happy New Year” message from both her and her hubby of more than seven years. They have four children together, Liam, 7; Stella, 5; Hattie, 2 1/2; and Finn, 19 months.
Dean checked into out-patient treatment in January, saying in a statement: “I am truly sorry for the mistakes I have made and for the pain I’ve caused my family. I take full responsibility for my actions and have voluntarily checked myself into a treatment center to address some health and personal issues. I am grateful to be getting the help I need so I can become the husband and father my family deserves.”
But only now have the words “I cheated on my wife” been said for all to hear.
Tori Spelling is doing a new reality show, which will document the rocky road she is navigating with love rat cheating husband, Dean McDermott, and an insider exclusively tells RadarOnline.com sheâs only doing the project to humiliate the Canadian native â and is only being paid $100,000.
In a press release from Lifetime, the network states âthe real story will be told as it should be, by Tori Spelling herselfâ and says the 40-year-old mother of four âhas made the courageous decision to allow the audience to witness the most difficult and unpredictable period in her life.â
Titled True Tori, the series will focus on Candy Spellingâs daughter but promises to reveal whether her marriage with McDermott, 47, will survive.
However, McDermott âis far from being a willing participant. He felt extremely pressured by Tori to do the reality show. Tori told him they had to do it because their fans want to know what is going on with their marriage. Too bad Dean doesnât feel that way,â the insider told Radar.
âThis should be a time of reflection, introspection, healing and figuring out what the next step is for them. The last thing Dean wants to deal with is production schedules and cameras. He asked Tori to wait a few months before doing the reality show, he just needs some timeâŠbut she insisted it had to be now. Reluctantly Dean agreed because he feels this is all his fault.â
And last month Spelling was forced to close her antique store, InvenTORI, amid claims that the family is âbroke.â
Our source says on the subject of money, âTori isnât doing the latest reality show for the moneyâŠ.Lifetime is only paying her $100,000 for the project.â
True Tori will premiere in just three weeks on April 22 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Lifetime.

Tori Spelling did her best to put on a brave face as she headed to a business meeting in Los Angeles on Wednesday. But beneath her baggy clothes, the reality star appeared to have lost weight from her already slender frame.
And after two months of being a single parent to their four children Tori must be ready for a break. The 40-year-old’s thin legs were impossible to miss in her cuffed skinny jeans, which were baggy despite their already tiny size. She kept it casual in a deep mauve floral-print kaftan-style top with three-quarter sleeves and a V-shaped neckline. Well-worn brown suede ankle boots completed her ensemble.
The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star wore her signature platinum blonde locks pulled back from her face in a simple low ponytail, while she covered her eyes with fun purple-framed sunglasses and carried a black handbag. She appeared to be wearing plenty of complementary bronze make-up, with a pop of pink on her pout.

A truck filled with boxes left the property on Friday and was spotted arriving at the family’s new home.
However, Tori wasn’t there to collect them as she decided to get away from her troubles at the Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland on January 10. Without her husband in tow, Tori enjoyed the amusement park with her kids.
For one of their stops, Tori was seen snuggling up with two of her four children on the Dumbo ride – Finn, one, in her lap and Stella, five, to her side, decked out in what appeared to be a Belle (from Beauty and the Beast) costume.
Tori matched her son in a striped sweater, which she later took off as the day heated up. Tori was also wearing a grey brimmed hat, perhaps trying to conceal her saddened emotions, as she certainly appeared quite sombre.
Though, Tori still tried to make the most of her special day, snapping photos of her kids for keepsake.

Tori Spelling left the city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida on ice after she dropped out of a planned appearance as grand marshal of the city’s boat parade at the last minute without explanation.
But the Beverly Hills, 90210 star, 40, seemed to be in the holiday spirit on Thursday night when she and husband Dean McDermott, 47, took their four kids to see Disney On Ice at LA’s Staples Center.
Organisers of the parade, which is scheduled for Saturday, were left scrambling to find a replacement following her unexpected departure.

Birthdays are a big deal in the McDermott household, and I knew that we had to go all out for our littlest ones’ big days this year. We decided to have a joint party for Hattie & Finn (their bdays are only a couple months apart), so we could celebrate both birthdays together (it was Hattieâs 2nd birthday in October and Finnâs 1st in August!). We went with a rodeo theme (it all starts with the theme!), and dressed up our little bday babes up in cowgirl/cowboy attire. Here are my pics from our day at the rodeo:
